Abstract Submission
The Organising and Scientific Committee is happy to invite you to participate actively in the academic deliberations of the   74th Annual Conference of IRIA which will be an extraordinary occasion for the exchange of thoughts and experiences.
We look forward to receiving abstracts online for consideration and inclusion in the scientific programme as Oral or E-Poster presentation.

Deadline for abstract submission is 31st December 2020

Conference Abstract Review Policy

The submitted abstracts should give a brief description of the title and topic.
All abstracts will be reviewed by the members (speciality heads) of the Scientific Committee.
The reviewers will judge the abstracts according

  • Relevance to IRIA/ICRI,
  • Standard of English,
  • Ethics,
  • Objectivity of statement,
  • Description of what was done,
  • Suitability of methods to aims,
  • Conclusions confirmed by objective results,
  • Scientific value,
  • Potential clinical value,
  • Originality of work and
  • Impact factor.

The decision of acceptance / rejection of abstract by the Scientific Committee is final.
No review or revision or influences are entertained.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the e-book (Souvenir) which is a digital supplement to scientific program.

Helpful Points for Abstract preparation
  • Please choose a title that clearly indicates the content of the contribution.
  • Please avoid abbreviations in the title (exception: scientific terms). Abbreviations may be used in the text if they are defined when used first.
  • Please make sure to use proper English language.
  • Please refrain from spelling abstract titles and co-authors' names in capital letters.
  • The author‘s name (full first name, family name) and place of work (institution, city, country) should be indicated in the respective form fields, not in the abstract title.
  • Degrees, titles, street addresses and acknowledgements of support should be omitted in the abstract title and text.

Tips to Provide maximum information in the abstract → please
  • state the specific background & objective of the study
  • state the methods used, if pertinent
  • summarise the results obtained
  • state the conclusions reached
  • ensure that the abstract does not contain spelling, grammar or scientific errors, as it will be reproduced exactly as submitted.
Guidelines for Abstract submission

  • Registration to the conference is mandatory - must quote your Registration Number.
  • If the author / delegate fails to register and update the conference registration number before abstract submission deadline of 31st December 2020, his / her abstract will be excluded from the scientific programme and publication in digital supplement.
  • A maximum of 3 abstracts (1 Paper + 2 e-Posters) per author will be accepted for submission. Additional submissions will not be considered (without further notice).
  • An abstract which has been previously published / presented cannot be submitted.
  • Postgraduate Thesis topics should not be sent as abstract for paper / poster till the degree is awarded by their respective universities.
Abstracts for “Oral presentation” are to be submitted in English, the official language of the 74th Annual conference of the Indian Radiological & Imaging association, should not exceed 250 words (in total) and be structured in the following specified subtitles: “Purpose” ( background & objective), “Methods and materials”, “Results” and “Conclusion”.

Abstracts for “E – Poster presentation” are to be submitted in English, the official language of the 74th Annual conference of the Indian Radiological & Imaging association, should not exceed 250 words (in total) and be structured in the following specified subtitles: “Learning Objectives”, “Background”, “Imaging findings OR Procedure details” and “Conclusion”.

  • Please restrict to the indicated maximum number of words in each section.
  • Authors need to sub-select whether they are submitting an Original Research, Meta-analysis, Review article, Pictorial Essay, Case Series Report or A rare Case Report with review.
  • Nomenclature / file name of the abstract: Use keyword in title - Institute name EX: If abstract is on pancreatitis by an author from Bangalore medical college, the file name to be named as "Pancreatitis-BMC".
  • The abstract submission constitutes a formal commitment by the author to present the paper / poster during the session at the time slot as assigned by the Scientific Committee.
  • Changes in the authorship should be communicated to the conference scientific committee in order to ensure correct appearance in the printed programme. Changes will be accepted only until the submission deadline 30th Sept 2020.
  • Should the first author, who is considered the presenter, turn out to be unable to present his/her poster , one of the co-authors should take over this responsibility. A change of the presenting author needs to be communicated to the conference scientific committee and will only be processed after acceptance of abstracts.
  • The acceptance of abstracts by the Scientific Committee does not imply any financial assistance or fee reduction.
  • Notification of acceptance or rejection by the Scientific Committee will be emailed to the first author.
  • Detailed information in which format the abstract is accepted (oral presentation or E-Poster), guidelines and recommendations for each abstract type as well as time and venue allotment will be sent in due time to registered first authors.

Oral Paper Presentation for the conference
  • Original research
  • Meta-analysis
  • Review articles
Authors of accepted oral presentations will be invited for a presentation within the IRIA Scientific Sessions.
Presentation time is Max 8 minutes (depending on the final programme).

Best Oral Presentation
Out of all oral presentations, the best 6 will be selected and invited to present during the Plenary Oral Free Paper Session (Date & Time will be intimated).
The three best of the 6 presentations will be awarded the First to Third Prizes.
The prizes will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony.

E - Poster presentations:
  • Original research
  • Pictorial essay
  • Case series report
  • Single typical or rare Case report with review of literature.
Accepted abstracts are presented during the congress electronically.

Best E-Poster Prizes

10 Best Posters will be selected for oral presentation - 5 mins time is allotted for each poster (Date & Time will be intimated).
Three Best Posters will be selected for the award of First to Third prizes.
The prizes will be awarded during the Closing Ceremony.
